Festival to welcome classical musicians

two acclaimed musicians are heading to Halifax for a summer recital.

Luca Luciano and Emilie Capulet will perform solo at the Halifax Festival on Sunday July 8 and Sunday July 15 respectively.

Italian-born composer Luca will perform 20th and 21st century music for the clarinet at Halifax Minster, while Emilie, who also performed at last year’s festival, will tickle the ivories at the Square Chapel.

Luca, accompanied by piano, will perform some of his own compositions and works by Vivaldi, Puccini and Gershwin.

And Emilie’s recital of composers including Beethoven, Mozart, Tchaikovsky and Chopin is an ideal introduction to classical music for new fans.

The Square Chapel will provide free tea and cake during the interval and families can also purchase a discounted ticket for a cultural day out.

Tickets for both recitals are £11 (£9 concessions). Call the box office on 01422 349422.

The Halifax Festival runs for 10 days from Friday July 6 to Sunday July 15. For more information, visit halifaxfestival.co.uk.
