‘Families are left with no money’
Around 200 food parcels were given to people seeking help at Holy Trinity Church in Batley Carr last week.
Volunteers provide a lifeline to destitute people, offering advice and companionship – as well as the only hot meal many might eat that week.

Hide AdThe project caters for the homeless and anyone who is on the poverty line.
Ann Pollard, of Trinity CARE, said: “We have seen a massive increase in the number of people coming to us for help.
“We have our regulars but with more and more people being referred to us from the job centre, we are seeing more people living in dire circumstances.”
Liz Exley, of CARE Dewsbury in Dewsbury Baptist Church, believes more people are seeking help following a changes in benefits.
She said: “We provide food parcels to struggling families and we are seeing more people struggling to make ends meet.
