Steve Quinn, of Bywell Road, Dewsbury, will be showing off his unique talent in The Art of Hair Education European tour, a series of educational hair art workshops, taking place in May around England, Scotland, Ireland, France and Italy.

Steve’s intricate patterns and portraits, which are shaved into hair, caught the attention of the tour’s boss, who saw his work on the internet.

Steve said: “The tour is basically trying to teach other barbers and stylists what we do. I’m really excited at the opportunity to see where it can go and I’m happy at the amount of interest being shown toward the culture.”

Steve currently works at Dino’s Barber shop on Leeds Road, Wakefield, and has expressed his desires to open his own barber shop in Dewsbury next year.

“I’m trying to make as much noise as I can,” he said.

His talent has seen him win the Nation Hairdressers’ Federation (NHF) Yorkshire Championship creative clipper category in 2011, and most recently the NHF’s hair art category, which took place in Blackpool’s Winter Gardens in March of last year. He added: “It’s great that my work is being noticed.”

Steve designs have included portraits of Jesus, rapper Jay-Z and Batman character The Joker.
