Councillor Paul Davies, Cabinet Member for Culture and Greener Kirklees said: “We tasked our residents to get creative and have fun – you certainly did not disappoint! There were so many witty suggestions it was really difficult to pick our favourites for the shortlist, we wanted as many as possible to make it to the public vote over on Twitter.

"Congratulations to our six winners and thank you to everyone who got involved by submitting an entry or voting in the competition.

"We are looking forward to welcoming the winners at our depots to officially unveil the new names. The six newly named wagons will expand our fleet to deal with the increased demand for our garden waste collections. It is fantastic that so many Kirklees residents see the positive impact that composting can have on the environment.”
