Dressed up dogs win prizes at show

Competitions on the day included prettiest bitch, waggiest tail and dog fancy dress.

There were pooches dressed up in banana, bumble bee, Minions and superhero costumes. Other attractions included sausage bobbing, stalls and a dog display team.

Andrew Gilpin, a volunteer for Yorkshire Rose Dog Rescue, which staged Sunday’s event, said: “It went really well. We had a good few thousand people there. We were fortunate with the weather. Everybody seemed to enjoy it.”

Money raised for the charity is still being counted.
