Double landmark for firm

An accountancy firm
celebrated a double landmark by marking its diamond jubilee and the 90th birthday of its founder.

Clough and Company, which has an office in Cleckheaton, paid tribute to Harry Clough, who visited the staff to commerate the milestone.

Staff enjoyed a fish and chip lunch and buried a time
capsule.

Mr Clough was presented with copies of newspapers from the day he was born.

The firm, which has 88 staff, will also celebrate its anniversary year with events including a charity ball, Three Peaks challenge, triathlon, trip to York races and a range of internal competitions to raise money for Bradford Cancer Support and Marie Curie.

Practice chairman at Clough and Company Steven Gash said: “Since Clough and Company was formed, a lot has changed in the industry but the company’s core values remain largely the same.

“This year is an exciting year for us and it’s fantastic to be supporting two very deserving charities as well as celebrating this anniversary.”

Mr Clough said: “I can’t believe 60 years has passed since I started the company from a small office in Bradford.

“The company has successfully diversified and now has specialist departments, which should stand the firm in good stead for the next 60 years.”
