The Mid Yorkshire Hospitals Trust said it had consistently met the target for 10 quarters, despite having the fifth busiest emergency units in the country.

Dr Sarah Robertshaw, lead emergency medicine consultant, said: “This is fantastic news and the result of a genuine team effort right across the service.
“Changes to the way we’ve delivered the emergency care service has brought major improvements in recent months.
NHS rules say hospitals should see, assess and either discharge or admit 95 per cent of A&E patients within four hours.
Trust operations director Neil Clark added: “The Trust continues to further improve the patient journey.”
