Dewsbury’s Sayeeda Warsi resigns over Gaza
Dewsbury-born Conservative peer Baroness Sayeeda Warsi has resigned over the Government’s policy on Gaza.
In a statement posted on her Twitter feed, the Foreign Office Minister said: “With deep regret I have this morning written to the Prime Minister & tendered my resignation. I can no longer support Govt policy on Gaza.”
The daughter of a former mill worker, she attended Birkdale High School and Dewsbury College before becoming a solicitor then politician.
