DEWSBURY student Jade Wolfenden is keeping her fingers crossed for crowning success in a national ‘teen queen’ contest.

The 16-year-old has made it to the last 50 – from 9,500 – competing for the title Teen Queen UK.

She and her family will be on tenterhooks as the public votes on who gets the coveted 2011 title.

Jade, who attends Ossett Sixth Form College and whose family lives in Thornhill, was spotted and photographed at the Clothes Show Live exhibition in Birmingham. She was told the pictures were for the Teen Queen challenge.

Dad Steven Wolfenden, well-known as a local cricketer, said: “The upshot is she had a letter asking her to go to London for a photoshoot for this competition. We have since been contacted to say she has made it to the last 50. It’s great news!”
