Dewsbury Road Runners celebrate 30 years
A founding member of Dewsbury Road Runners returned to the town to help the club celebrate its 30th anniversary.
Tony Sykes had the honour of cutting a birthday cake with oldest member Brian Cooper and longest-serving member Colin Watson. Before members set off for a training run, Mr Sykes told them: “For the first nine or 10 years, I was running the club and gradually building it up. It’s very pleasing to me to know that you now have 116 members. You all look very fit too which is even better!”
The club meets at Dewsbury Sports Centre every Tuesday and Thursday, 6.45pm.
