Police believe the three robbers, all described as Asian men, waited outside the shop in Westtown for a few minutes before the raid at around 3.11pm.

Det Insp Andrew Leonard said: “This was a serious incident which happened in broad daylight on a busy street in Dewsbury and we believe would have been witnessed by passers by.

“We believe the men waited for a few minutes before entering the premises and I am particularly interested in speaking to anyone who saw three men hanging around the shop shortly before the incident took place or fleeing shortly afterwards carrying black bin liners.”
