The Mohaddis-E-Azam Mission – Madani Mosque, in Ravenshouse Road, held its annual Maddrassah exams for more than 300 pupils attending their religious school.
The successful candidates were then rewarded with trophies for reciting the Koran in proper Arabic, for their knowledge in Islamic Studies, as well as for reading Urdu ‘Naath’ poetry.
Medals were also presented to a large number of children for their regular attendance and good behaviour. Madani Mosque’s senior committee member, Afroz Ashrafi, said: “The children who attend our thriving Maddrassah school are really amazing, well behaved and very hard-working.
“It is always an absolute pleasure to support these local children through our severely limited resources.”
