Dewsbury landmark building Empire House for sale

A prominent building in Dewsbury town centre has gone on the market for £1.5m.

Empire House in Wakefield Old Road is being marketed for sale by Sanderson Weatherall.

The council became the building’s biggest tenant when it moved around 150 staff to the site last summer.

It is accountable for 20 per cent of the £174,541 gross rent generated for Empire House’s owners each year.

The company is seeking offers in excess of £1.485m for the seven storey building.

It is mainly used for offices but has some retail units on the ground floor.

Sanderson Weatherall partner Richard Dunn said: “Empire House is a landmark building in the centre of Dewsbury adjacent to the town hall. “This well-located office investment is anchored by Kirklees Council and offers excellent asset management angles and tremendous value- for-money at the asking price.”
