Dewsbury killer’s sentence leads 50 to protest
The demonstration, which was promoted on an English Defence League Facebook page, was in response to the prison sentence given to the killer of Jack Carter.
Mohammed Nazakat Alam, 25, of Beckett Lane, Dewsbury Moor, was jailed for 21 months for the manslaughter of Mr Carter, who was attacked in Thornhill Lees in August.

Hide AdProsecutors have lodged an appeal against Alam’s sentence, which has also been criticised by Mr Carter’s family for being too lenient.
A police spokesman said at the demonstration on Saturday a minute’s silence was held for Mr Carter and a speech was given. He said there were no incidents of public order offences and no arrests made.
