Dewsbury’s newest indoor football centre has pledged to support its local food bank after donating tinned and dried goods this Christmas. Kick Off director Jamil Baig is hoping his facility will also become a drop-off point for Fusion Housing’s food bank service and staff andd customers will be making regular donations for local families in need.
“We are very grateful for the food donation. It is a particularly busy time of the year for the foodbank as people struggle to make ends meet. Christmas comes on top of meeting continuing needs and it’s a tough time for a large number of local families,” said food bank manager Ridhwaan Nadat.
“Everyone needs a little help every now and again and at Christmas time we are so pleased to be able to make a difference to local families. I have visited the food bank and discussed the amazing work that they are doing. People imagine that this is being handed out to the homeless in our town but there are also many families across the town who, for many reasons, are struggling financially,” added Jamil Baig.
