Dewsbury firm Rixonway appear on DIY SOS

A Dewsbury kitchen manufacturer will be in the national spotlight tonight when its staff appear on TV show DIY SOS.

RIxonway took part in the programme’s biggest-ever project when they transformed two streets of disused houses in Manchester into homes for armed forces veterans and local residents. The company provided a kitchen for one of the specially-adapted veterans’ homes in Newton Heath, in the east of the city, and the programme will be broadcast on BBC One this evening. The renovation team were even visited by Princes William and Harry during filming in the 25 previously-empty homes.

Rixonway works with social and affordable housing providers across the UK, designing and supplying kitchens for a range of new build and refurbishment programmes.

“We were delighted to take part in the project. As a company, we provide kitchens to more than 50,000 social properties every year, including around 500 adaptation projects and as such, we understand the importance of having a kitchen that suits a tenant’s lifestyle,” said Dave Anderson, Rixonway’s sales and marketing director.

“The kitchen is one of the main rooms in the house and we were so pleased to be able to play our part in supporting this great project and importantly, helping the veterans who will call this community home.”
