DEWSBURY AND DISTRICT RAMBLERS - Twenty seven walkers set off along the canal on Wednesday July 31 to complete the eight mile Selby Horseshoe route. Wolfgang Shoneberg was the leader. Last Saturday, 27 people set off on a 7.5 mile walk from Lower Cumberworth via Birdsedge, Denby Dale, Withen Wood and the Kirklees Way. Barbara Addy was the leader. The following day, 13 members set off from Scarcroft with walk leader Malcolm Waterworth. The nine mile walk took in Bardsey, Wyke and Shadwell. Wednesday: Evening walk with fish and chip supper, meet Wetherby Whaler, Wakefield, 6pm, names to Norman Dewhirst.

ELIM CHURCH - Retired Elim Pastor Peter Hannam took last Sunday’s morning service and spoke about the grace of God. There was also the special dedication of Morgan Barber, and many members of her family were able to attend. In the evening there was the Worship and Communion service at 6pm. GOSPEL CHURCH - Pastor Ward led Sunday Morning Bible School last weekend. He continued his study on the ‘gospel message’ which has been the focus of Bible School for almost a year now. The Sunday evening meeting included a number of testimonies. Pastor Ward, and his wife, Heather, reported back on the recent holiday they had in Crete with their family.
