Customer views inspire plans for petrol station

A supermarket chain has submitted plans for a petrol station after feedback from its customers.

Asda want to use part of the car park of its Dewsbury store for a fully automated filling station with four pumps, and jet wash facility.

Its planning application to Kirklees Council includes installation of fuel storage tanks, associated pipework, and an air and water unit.

Changes would be made to the positioning of some standard, accessible and parent and child parking bays if the petrol station is built. It would mean the loss of around 50 parking spaces overall.

The application said: “The facility is primarily designed to meet existing store customer demand and is in response to customer feedback.”
