Vicious attack outside Dewsbury park leaves victim with a broken jaw

An attack outside a Dewsbury park saw a man taken to hospital after he suffered a broken jaw.

Police are appealing for witnesses after a serious assault took place at Dewsbury Park on Heckmondwike Road, Dewsbury.

The assault took place outside the gates to the park on Saturday March 21 sometime between 7.30pm and 8pm.

The victim was driving towards Dewsbury Town Centre when a white Citroen Berlingo Van pulled in front of him, blocking his way.

The suspect, a male driver of the Berlingo, got out of the vehicle and assaulted the victim causing injuries to his head and body.

The male victim was taken to hospital with a broken jaw and has since been discharged.

The suspect is described as a while male, middle aged, around 5ft11 tall, slim build, bald head wearing a black hoody.

Officers are keen to speak to driver of a black fiat Punto who was in the area at the time.
