Three people arrested over Batley murder, West Yorkshire Police say

Two men and a woman have been arrested over the murder of a man found dead at his home in West Yorkshire.

The body of Saleem Butt, 61, was found at his home on Hyrstlands Road in Batley on Thursday, April 23.

West Yorkshire Police said yesterday (Saturday) that officers had arrested a man from Birstall on suspicion of Mr Butt's murder.

The 42-year-old was arrested on Friday evening and remained in custody yesterday.

A 59-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman have also been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. The male has been released on bail and the woman remained in police custody yesterday, the force said.

The Homicide and Major Enquiries Team are still investigating the murder and are continuing to appeal for any potential witnesses or anybody with information.
