Speeding driver in Heckmondwike clocked at 21mph over the legal limit

Action has been taken by police officers in Heckmondiwke following complaints by residents

Speed checks were carried out by the Batley and Spen Neighbourhood Policing Team on White Lee Road on February 2 at 10pm

During the patrol more than 43 vehicles were checked for speed.

Three drivers received a ticket for speeds of 39Mph, 39Mph and 51 Mph.

One speeding driver even asked if it would affect the speed awareness course he had just booked onto following a previous stop.

One ticket was also issued to a driver for no MOT.

The policing team said further checks are planned in a number of locations in the area.
