Shop keeper attacked by gang and suffers facial injuries during robbery

Detectives in Kirklees are issuing CCTV images of a group of males they want to identify in connection with a robbery in Birkenshaw.

At around 6.55pm on Monday 22 February, police were called to an incident at Old Lane Newsagents, Birkenshaw.

Three males entered the shop and were verbally abusive towards the shop keeper and then attempted to steal items from the shop.

The shop keeper confronted the males and was assaulted causing facial injuries.

Detective from Huddersfield CID are continuing with enquiries and would like to hear of any sightings of the group in the area or if anyone can identify the individuals captured on CCTV it would be greatly appreciated.
