A man was assaulted and robbed in his own home in what police are calling a “targeted attack” in Dewsbury Moor.

Police have issued a witness appeal following the attack which happened at an address in School Crescent at 12.30am on Friday (July 24).

Two men entered the property before demanding property from the lone 29-year-old male occupant. The victim was then hit on the head, before the two robbers escaped the property with two mobile phones.

The first man is described as white, aged between 30 and 35-years-old, around 5ft 8ins tall, of stocky/muscular build, with short, neat blond hair which appeared freshly cut and styled in to a side parting.

The second man is described as being tanned or mixed race, aged between 25 to 30-years-old, around 6ft tall, of slim build. He was wearing a dark zip-up hooded top with the hood up and pulled tight around his face.

Detective Constable Richard Brooke said: “This incident is being treated as a targeted attack; however as part of our ongoing enquiries we are seeking the public’s help in identifying the two men responsible.

“We are keen to hear from anyone who saw men matching the suspects’ descriptions in the School Crescent area of Dewsbury Moor around the time of the offence.”

Anyone with information is asked to call the Kirklees Robbery Team on 101.
