Police continue hunt for knife-wielding robber who threatened heavily pregnant woman in Batley cemetery

Police are appealing for witnesses after a heavily pregnant woman was robbed at knifepoint in Batley.

At around 8.30pm on July 1, a heavily pregnant woman in her 30s was sitting in the grounds of Batley cemetery when she was approached by a man.

He demanded she handed over money and threatened her with a knife, before taking cash from the victim’s purse.

The robber then made off in the direction of Cemetery Road.

The suspect is described as white, tall and of skinny build. He is believed to be in his 30s and was wearing a grey top and blue trousers.

Officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed a male matching this description in the area or anyone who saw a male making off down Cemetery Road to come forward.
