New driver clocked at 101mph on M62 because he needed the toilet

A new driver was caught speeding on the M62 near Brighouse because he needed the toilet,

The bizarre excuse was shared by West Yorkshire Police's Road Policing Unit on social media.

The driver was clocked at 101mph at junction 25 of the motorway on August 19.

When he was question the driver said he needed the toilet.

However police officers weren't convinced.

Posting on Twitter the unit said: "New driver still within his two years. Claimed he needed the toilet - but had just passed the services.

"Driver reported to court and could be disqualified."
