Man arrested for murder

The victim, a 24-year-old man, was found laid in the middle of Lincoln Green Road in Leeds at around 2am today.

He was taken to Leeds General Infirmary where he later died of his injuries.

The suspect was arrested in the Paddock area of Huddersfield at 11.25am today.

Police believe the victim and the suspect were known to each other and are not looking for anybody else in connection with the incident.

Detective Superintendent Mark Ridley, who is leading the investigation, has appealed for witnesses.

Lincoln Green Road is likely to be closed for most of today while police continue their enquiries.
