Huge amount of cannabis and weapons seized in police raid as eight people are arrested

A substantial amount of cannabis as well as weapons were seized by Operation Jemlock officers on Friday.

Jemlock officers were joined by colleagues from the Bradford South Neighbourhood Policing Team as they raided houses in Wyke.

Three cannabis cultivations were recovered as well as a significant amount of the class B drug and weapons including knives.

Cash and class A drugs were also recovered and a total of eight people (6 men aged 26 to 57 and two women aged 29 and 47) were arrested on suspicion of offences including drugs offences. All have been released under investigation.

Sergeant Andy Bingham of Operation Jemlock, said: “Operation Jemlock is the Force’s response to serious violent crime and as part of our work we executed these warrants as a direct result of information from the community.

“They were in partnership with local neighbourhood office and I would encourage people to report any criminal activity – if we know about it we can act.
