Police thought Mr Holt was sleeping rough near Kirkgate in Wakefield, but there was a sighting of him on the Spen Valley Greenway, near Mirfield, on Sunday morning.

Police also think Mr Holt has also been visiting Ravensthorpe Retail Park.

Inspector Steph Wiseman said: “Alan suffers from mental health problems and has not had any medication for over a month now, so we are extremely concerned for his welfare.

“Information that officers have picked up from people around Mirfield leads us to believe that he is back in the area so I am urgently appealing for anyone who sees Alan to contact us immediately and not to wait until they see an officer on patrol.

“The weather is turning colder and wetter and we really need to trace Alan before he comes to any harm.”

Alan is white, 5ft 8ins tall and slim. He is balding on top, with black hair at the back and sides. He also has a tattoo on his left shoulder which says, ‘on fire’.

Mr Holt was also seen on October 8 at St Mary’s Church, in Mirfield, wearing a blue jumper and jeans and carrying Lidl or Aldi bag.

Anyone who sees Alan should call PC 5188 Karen Truelove at the Kirklees Police Missing Person Unit via 101.
