Officers from the Batley and Spen neighbourhood Policing Team attended a priority call on January 28 after an eagle eyed member of the public became concerned for a vulnerable neighbour.
The caller noticed a plain white transit van parked outside and saw the passenger approach their neighbour's house

Similar incidents have been reported across Kirklees where suspects have talked their way into houses and proceeded to steal cash.
Officers are warning members of the public to stay vigilant, and where possible take the time to talk to vulnerable/elderly family members and neighbours.
A spokesperson for the neighbourhood policing team said: "We would advise anybody not to accept unexpected doorstep callers looking for work, and never invite strangers in to your home, hand over cash or personal details.

"Fortunately, on this occasion the neighbour (who was previously a victim of unscrupulous traders) remembered the previous incident, refused to hand over money and quickly closed the door before contacting our caller to make him aware."
