Crime Report: Robbers raid home

Robbers kicked open the front door of a Town Hall Street flat in an armed raid.

One man stood guard at the door with a kitchen knife while the other searched the flat at 2.50am on June 21.

The first suspect was described as 5ft 11in, wearing a black long-sleeved top and black tracksuit bottoms.

The second was around 5ft 8in tall, wearing a red long-sleeved top.

Also in the weekly round up of crimes from the neighbourhood police team ,

A Royal Mail van was taken from Hopton Hall Lane at 11.40am on June 25 after the keys were left in the ignition.

The van was later recovered.

A thief stole car keys from a house in Old Bank Road on June 25.

A Vauxhall Vectra was stolen and later found burnt out.

Crossley Field Junior and Infant School was vandalised twice when its decking was burned and gazebo dauebed with graffiti. The fire took place at 5pm on June 21.

And the school’s gazebo was damaged with graffiti and scratch marks at around 6.30pm on June 24.

A home in Fenton Street was burgled when a thief got in through an unlocked door and stole a purse at 6pm on June 21.

And a window of a Vauxhall Movano was smashed on Waste Lane at 9pm on June 25.
