Council bid to get rid of Westborough travellers

Travellers moved onto the fields belonging to Westborough High School off Halifax Road on Thursday.

It is believed they were previously camped at a retail park on Wilton Street.

A spokesperson for Kirklees Council said today (Tuesday) that a court application had been made and was likely to be heard early next week.

Court proceedings have also been started over an encampment at Miry Lane in Hightown and two caravans at Millbridge Park in Liversedge.
