People are being encouraged to make easy food swaps to reduce their fat intake as part of the government’s Change4Life campaign.

Once registered to the scheme, you can get money-off vouchers, a meal mixer app, text messages and email bulletins with pre-shopping reminders to help keep you on track, a Smart Swaps wheel of meal ideas for each swap and fridge magnets.

All primary schools in Kirklees that are part of the School Fruit and Veg scheme will automatically receive a resource pack which will focus on swapping for a healthier breakfast and swapping to a school lunch. All other primary schools have been invited to join the campaign too.

Kirklees Council is also encouraging food businesses to support the campaign by displaying Smart Swaps taster recipe leaflets.
