Cleckheaton's Body and Soul shuts after 21 years

Body and Soul, which was based at the Cheapside end of the Central Arcade, opened to customers for the last time on Saturday.

Owners had previously confirmed on social media that the store was on the market.

Stefan Simmons, who owned the shop, said: “We have had 21 good years in Cleckheaton but the time has come for us to move on.

“We had a closing down sale and gave all our customers some very nice bargains.”

A statement on the shop’s Facebook page posted yesterday reads: “We would like to thank all our loyal customers over many years.”

The neighbouring Cleckheaton Photos has moved into the arcade.

Melanie Shingleton took to social media to post: “Such a shame, another well established business in our town centre closing!”

The site is now available to let.
