Ebbi James was one of just 30 primary school children from across the country to attend The Maths Factor Graduation Day 2014, hosted by the former Countdown and Loose Women star.

The Maths Factor was set up four years ago as an online help school for children between the ages of four to 11 in need of extra assistance with the school subject. It aims to give kids an opportunity to learn about numbers in a fun and engaging way.

Since joining the school in 2012, Ebbi has completed around 15,000 sums through the website to complete his graduation.

Ebbi, who received a certificate and a slice of celebratory cake as part of his award, said: “I felt really happy to get my Maths Factor certificate today and I can’t wait to tell everyone at school about the Graduation event.”

Carol, who made her name as a co-host of Countdown for 26 years, said: “It was lovely to meet Ebbi and I was so thrilled to celebrate his brilliant achievements at our first ever Maths Factor Graduation Day.

“Maths really isn’t difficult if you’re taught well and gain confidence at a young age. Families use the Maths Factor together at home. Children love it and so do their mums and dads.”
