Cleckheaton man fined for making fake 999 kidnap call
“Substantial” police enquiries were made into an alleged kidnapping in the early hours this morning (Friday).
A man told operators ‘Let me out, I’ve been kidnapped’ during a 999 call.
But officers later found out the call was nothing more than a hoax.

Hide AdDet Insp Jim Griffiths, of Kirklees CID, said: “A call was received at 12.50am this morning.
“Substantial police enquiries were made and as a result a 29-year-old local man was found to be responsible for a bogus call.”
The man, who was traced to Filley Royd in Cleckheaton, was given a penalty notice and £100 fine.
