Church finds new home

Dewsbury Evangelical Church has submitted plans to turn a business site into a new church.

The congregation has applied for permission to convert Cutwel Limited’s offices and warehouse in Central Street, Eightlands.

It has been based in Crackenedge Lane near the town centre since 1983.

But its Sunday services are being held in Heckmondwike because the original building is too small.

The congregation had hoped to find another town centre location but needed a building to seat up to 200.

Public consultation on the plans ends on August 24.
