Child pornpictures guilty plea

A MAN has admitted having indecent images of children on his computer.

Andrew Nelson, 39, admitted having the images at Leeds Crown Court on Monday.

Nelson pleaded guilty to 14 counts of making indecent photographs of children at a hearing in March.

He was due to stand trial on Monday for six further counts of making indecent photographs of children, one count of possessing indecent photographs of children and six counts of possessing extreme images of people having sex with animals.

The trial was abandoned when Nelson pleased guilty to the charge of possessing indecent photographs and five of the making indecent photographs charges.

He still denies one of the counts of making indecent photographs and all of the charges of possessing extreme pornography. The charges all date back to February 2009.

Prosecutors decided it was not necessary for a trial to go ahead once Nelson had entered his additional guilty pleas.

Nelson, of Knowl Road, Mirfield, will be sentenced for the charges h has admitted on December 5.

The charges he is denying will also be dealt with at that hearing.

The court will either find Nelson not guilty, or the charges will be ordered to lie on file.
