Chance to dig beautiful village gardens

The villagers of Emley and Flockton are preparing to showcase 17 gardens that are normally hidden from public view.

Residents have been sowing, planting, weeding and mowing in preparation for their open gardens event which takes place this weekend (Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 July) from noon.

Admission to the gardens is by programme only (£5). They will available from both village churches on the day.

In Emley, proceeds from the event will go towards the preservation of the East Window of St Michael’s Church. The window commemorates the Fitzwilliam family who were granted the manor of Emley,
