Chance for young entrepreneurs at Westborough

Trading kicks off this week for school children from Westborough High School, as they compete to be named the winner of the national enterprise competition, Tycoon in Schools 2014.

Westborough High School Year 10 Business Studies Team – Ethical Print start trading this week, after they were awarded funding by Peter Jones CBE, entrepreneur and Dragons’ Den star, to compete in a bid to be crowned winners of Tycoon in Schools 2014.

The race is on for the budding young business stars from Westborough High School. With student participation up by over 40 percent since the competition’s inception, competition is tougher than ever for the Westborough High School students.

Budding entrepreneurs from Westborough are among the thousand-or-so high-calibre students who have been selected this year by Peter Jones CBE to receive funding and kick-start their business ideas.

Peter Jones CBE said:“I am thrilled that Tycoon in Schools, now in its third year, is continuing to provide schoolchildren all over the country with their first taste of enterprise. Each year I am bowled over by the talent and confidence of participating students, and I look forward to seeing each of them continue to develop their entrepreneurial flair this year.”

Lukman Patel the Head of Business & Ethics at Westborough said: “Our Year 10 Business group getting to the final stages of this prestigious competition is a testimony of the outstanding teaching in the Business faculty and the continued enthusiasm shown by all our students.”
