Cannabis trial adjourned until January

The trial of a man accused of growing cannabis in a former Birstall bar has been adjourned until January.

This week a court heard how police who raided the sports bar found an underground labyrinth in the cellar containing £25,000 of cannabis plants.

Jason Hardy, 38, now of Gelderd Road, Birstall, denies growing the class B drug in the basement of his former bar, Jardy’s.

Police raided the bar in Low Lane on February 17 this year and found seven cannabis plants in the cellar.

The prosecution’s case was heard at Leeds Crown Court on Monday.

The trial has now been adjourned until January 14.
