Cafe workers make it happen at the hospital
But volunteers from the coffee shop at Dewsbury and District Hospital put in the hours to raise the £7,500 needed to buy the radiology department some new kit.
The department was looking for new high seated chairs, trolleys and other pieces of specialist equipment to improve comfort for its patients on the ward.

Hide AdSue Barker, radiology team leader at the hospital, said: “I can’t thank the volunteers enough for their help.
“Their generosity is now speeding up the radiology process for scores of patients every week and providing a far more comfortable experience thanks to the specialised equipment they’ve funded.”
The funds were raised through profits from the volunteer-run cafe at the hospital. It forms a central part of the Trust’s fundraising.
Senior coffee shop organiser Heather Walker said: “Departments often don’t realise funds are available from the volunteers and we’re hoping more will come forward.
“If it’s something that will be of benefit to patients it’s likely we’ll consider it.”
