An ambitious duo who left their jobs in sales to start a new venture now supply IT products to 50 NHS trusts.

Jones Thomas and Chris Stoner formed Thomas Stoner Supplies in 2011 and have since grown a team of 12 full-time staff and anticipate turnover of £3m in their fourth year of trading.

With 50 NHS contracts under their belt, the pair are celebrating contracts wins at Dewsbury and District Hospital and Huddersfield Royal Infirmary.

The company, which supplies IT hardware and printer consumables online from its base in Technology Drive, Batley, has been made a business partner of Hewlett-Packard and has also been visited by Microsoft.

Directors Jones and Chris said they were proud to work with the NHS and help cash-strapped hospitals save money.

Jones said: “It’s our NHS, it belongs to the people.”

Chris added: “We feel we owe the community something, and the best way to give back has been to deliver to the NHS.”

The company, based in Batley Business Park, also prides itself on a happy workforce and has watched apprentices flourish in sales, marketing and accounting roles.

“We have a great team,” Chris said. “We have trained them and showed them how we became successful.”

Thomas Stoner hopes to add four more staff to its sales team this year. Applicants can call the office on 01924 477877.

Chris said: “We set up the company to run it the right way. Some of our staff earn more than me and Jones.

“We’ll get our rewards in the long run, if we’re doing everything the right way and staff are happy.”
