Brontë talk by TV’s Christa Ackroyd

NEWS presenter Christa Ackroyd is to give a talk on the history of the Brontë family.

Christa, who presents BBC Look North, will give the talk at St Peter’s Church, Hartshead, where the Rev Patrick Brontë was curate.

The Rev Richard Burge, current priest in charge at Hartshead, said: “The Rev Patrick Brontë was the priest in charge of St Peter’s 200 years ago. It will be a wonderful opportunity to hear about this famous family that this area is so strongly connected with.”

The event takes place on Saturday March 31 at the church in Church Lane, Hartshead, at 7.30pm. Tickets are £7.50 with proceeds going to church funds. Email [email protected] or call 01274 873024 to book.
