BREAKING: Police name man killed in motorbike smash

Police have named the man killed in a motorcycle crash as 23-year-old Kulraj Kalsi from Dewsbury.

A motorcyclist has died after being knocked down on Thornhill Road in Dewsbury. (D513C318)

Officers were called to Thornhill Road at 12.37pm on Saturday after a motorbike was hit by a white Volkswagen Caddy.

The Major Collision and Enquiry Team (MCET) are continuing to appeal for information about the incident at the junction with Dewsbury Mills Anchor House.

A spokesman said Mr Kalsi had died as the result of serious head injuries.

The man driving the car was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and causing death by dangerous driving.

He has been bailed pending further enquiries.
