Mrs Stott, who was born and grew up in Mirfield, now lives in Oldham but visits the town regularly to see her family. All of the profits from the book are split between Yorkshire Cancer Research, Kirkwood Hospice, the British heart Foundation and Diabetes UK.

This week she handed over £2,000 to each of the charities at Mirfield Library, where she used to work.

Mrs Stott, 61, said: “The book is a real labour of love for me. I don’t take anything from it and publish it myself to keep costs so that every penny can go to charity. The book is still on sale so hopefully there will be a lot more to come for the charities.”

The book costs £25 and is available from Mirfield Library, Oops a Daisy and Mirfield News on Huddersfield Road.
