Blue to headline 2013 Leeds Party in the Park

Blue is the colour for revellers at this year’s Party in the Park pop concert in Leeds.

Organisers at the city council and 96.3 Radio Aire today announced the first three names appearing at the massive summer music bash.

One of the acts hitting the stage on the big day at Temple Newsam will be reformed boy band Blue, who scored huge hits with the likes of All Rise and One Love.

Also on the bill are girl group Stooshe and singer-songwriter A*M*E. More stars are due to be revealed in the next few weeks.

Radio Aire breakfast show presenter Rich Williams said today: “Now we’ve announced the first acts it feels very real! I can’t wait for Party in the Park now.

“Stooshe and Blue are amazing live and I think A*M*E is going to be one of the stars of the show. Leeds is all set for one stunning day out!”

Party in the Park will take place on Sunday July 28.

Budget cuts mean the council has had to introduce ticket charges for the annual event for the first time. General admission costs £10, although discounts of as much as £5 will be available to holders of leisure passes such as Breezecards and LEEDSCards. A 10 per cent discount offer for ‘early bird’ purchases also runs until this Friday. (May 31)
