Blood donors honoured
Roger Swithenbank and Terry Wilson, from Dewsbury, were honoured at an NHS Blood and Transplant awards event in Leeds for making 75 donations each.
They were presented with their award by mum of two Jayne Snell. who was diagnosed with Myelodysplastic Syndrome, a rare blood cancer, in February 2011. The following year, Jayne received numerous transfusions, which helped keep her alive.

Hide AdDonna Batty, lead donor relations manager at NHS Blood and Transplant, said: “We would like to thank these donors for their commitment and dedication to blood donation. They are an inspiration to us all and we hope that others will follow in their footsteps to save and improve the lives of many people.”
