Batley thief writes apology letter and repays debt
A remorseful thief sent an apology letter to a post office and a corner shop to repay a debt of £30.
Ismail Patel, owner of both businesses in Mount Pleasant, was shocked when he opened the letters on Monday morning.
The anonymous thief sent £10 to Mount Pleasant post office and £20 to Mount Corner Shop, with a note saying they stole the cash when they were a child.
Mr Patel said: “I was surprised but it takes a brave man to admit his mistakes.”
