Batley Nash proves it has a talent for fundraising

Future chart-toppers could be heard belting out the hits at Batley Nash this bank holiday as it prepares to host its very own talent show.

The Nash’s Got Talent singing competition has been organised as part of a day of activities to raise money for charity.

The event at the Irish Democratic League Club, in Churchfield Terrace, will feature various stalls and a raffle.

Prizes include £100 in cash, a wine and spirit hamper, supermarket vouchers and a Dewsbury Ram’s home game ticket.

Cash raised at the event will go towards Dewsbury and Batley Faith and Light, which is run by St Paulinus Social Club in Dewsbury.

The charity organised social events for disabled adults and children.

The event will begin at 1.30pm on Monday at the club and is open to both members and visitors.

Batley Nash has a knack for fundraising and has garnered more than £34,000 since 2009 through a string of popular events that it has hosted.

The club has also raised more than £8,800 for the Dewsbury and Batley Faith and Light so far.

Dedicated fundraisers at the Batley Nash include Monica Hopkins, Jean Foley, Margaret Walker and Sheila Dearie.
