Oracle Drive Systems, based in Batley Business Park, has named John Mullins as its new managing director, after Peter Morgan retired his role as MD in August.

The company, which boasts clients from USA, Hong Kong and Belgium, then announced a new two-year contract with a Northeast-based company worth £180,000.

Oracle Drive Systems is a systems integrator company. It offers services such as designing and building control panels, supplying drive modules and equipment, doing thermal imaging surveys, and doing computer aided updates and redrawing.

Mr Mullins said: “We recently won a large order to supply eight control systems for some electrically driven under-rollers.

“This would help expand our business profile and services. We are also branching into e-commerce. This is a new area for the business, and we have high hopes for it.”

The business was set up in 2004 and, although John now works from his home in Hartlepool, he believes Batley is the best place to be based.

He said: “It is in a central location for all of our contracts. We have never had any trouble there, and it is a secure location.”
